CHICAGO– August 1, 2018 – STATS, the worldwide leader in sports data and intelligence, will present as a member of a soccer data panel at the 2018 Joint Statistical Meeting.
On Wednesday, August 1 at 8:30 a.m. PDT, Paul Power, Artificial Intelligence Scientist at STATS, will present on the panel, “Getting Shots Inside the Box-Cox” at the Vancouver Convention Center in Vancouver, Canada. Power is joined by Javier Fernández, Data Scientist at FC Barcelona, and Ted Knutson, CEO of StatsBomb. Power will lead the session with his paper, “Interpretable Analysis of Team Performance in Soccer Using Tracking Data: A Hybrid of Supervised and Unsupervised Methods .”
