This year we have once again partnered with Birkbeck, University of London, to deliver a nine-week football analytics module as part of the university’s Sport Management and Business of Football MSc.
Delivered online, the football analytics module features weekly lectures delivered by experienced industry professionals, who each possess specialist areas of expertise and first-hand experience of implementing data and analytical processes within the professional football industry.
The module, which starts on Tuesday 23rd April, will provide enrolled students with an introduction to core analytical approaches and concepts relevant to professional football, with a particular focus on the application of these concepts in day-to-day tasks and in long-term strategic planning.
In addition to welcoming Birkbeck MSc students, football industry practitioners and other people interested in learning more about applied analytics in the sport can also enrol onto the module as an academically accredited short course.
After enrolling, students will be introduced to different analytical technologies, the value of both qualitative and quantitative data, data visualisation, and best practice for applying data in a range of football performance and football business scenarios.
